Who am I?

My name is Arif Ender, born 1983 in Istanbul, Turkey. I finished high school in Österreichische St. Georg’s Kolleg and earned Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in Yildiz Technical University. During college years, I worked on Web Development and Programming which led me to be one of the best PHP programmers in Turkey back that time. Unfortunately, I gave up this passion to become an engineer and entered into corporate life. In the meantime, I received a Master’s degree in Engineering and Technology Management at Bogazici University.

The story until here was quite nice… with one problem: I didn’t like the “real” engineering world. That’s why I accepted to try a very new field – I felt like I crossed behind enemy lines – and started my career in Human Resources. Of course, the most analytical part of it…. Total Rewards.

The very same year was also the one I found myself a new hobby and I started running. It all started doing a 5K around the block which led to numerous 10K’s and half-marathons. Basically, I fell in love with the endurance sports. It didn’t matter for me to become top athlete, elite or competitive but I thrive to achieve best for myself. This blog will include a separate part of my journey to reach my goal.

I’m happily married and a very proud cat father, currently residing in Ireland (Slainté!)

Why this blog?

Like I mentioned above, it’s all about sharing knowledge, experience and maybe just leaving some marks behind which can be entertaining, informative and hopefully inspirational.

I’d like to connect to different groups of people whose interests match the different categories of this blog, maybe both.
